Oftentimes, we worry about so many things in life. We worry how to met certain needs. We worry about the future. We worry about our loved ones. These worries make our lives burdensome. We make so many petitions to the Lord. When our prayers seem unanswered, we become anxious.
Our anxiety stems from the fact that we measure God’s action according to our standards. When we pray, we anticipate him to act according to our plans or thinking. And when what we expect do not happen, we get worried.
We forget that God’s ways are different from our ways. When we think God will answer our prayers in a certain way, he works in unexpected ways! If we only allow God to act freely in our lives, we will discover how marvelous are his ways.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”. Isaiah 55:9
We should never doubt the power of God. Out of the dust, God was able to create man. When Jesus fed several thousands, he did that only out of the 2 loaves and the 5 fishes! God has the power to do anything. He can change our circumstances anytime.
So let us have faith in God and have peace. Let us learn to live life according to the psalmist:
One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life… (psalm 27:4)
In his dwelling, we have everything we need. We have a peaceful life!
